Upgrading

This section provides information about upgrading the BMC License Usage Collection Utility. 

Upgrading to 4.5.00

Upgrading from version 3.x

A new installation is required in order to access the user\logs and user\Reports directories.  

Upgrading from version 4.0.00

When installing, make sure to select the "Yes to all" option. This will remove all of the deployment details history and create a clean install copy. (For details, see #7 in Performing-the-installation.) 

Upgrading from 4.0.01 to 4.5.00

You do not have to manually uninstall a previous version of the license utility before upgrading from version 4.0.01 to version 4.5.00. The installation process will automatically upgrade to the new version.
 When upgrading, run the installer as an administrator user. During the installation process, you will have the option ("No to All") to maintain the deployment settings from the previous version, or overwrite them in the new version.
