Upgrading from 1.x, 2.x, 3.x to 3.6.00

To upgrade to BMC License Usage Collection Utility from versions 1.x, 2.x, or 3.x to version 3.6.00, you will need to uninstall the previous version and install the new version.

Warning

Note

  • When upgrading, run the installer as an administrator user.
  • When upgrading, select "Yes to All" or uninstall the previous version and reinstall version 3.6.00.
    • After version 3.6.00 has been reinstalled, add a new deployment for all products with the required information.

 

  1. To uninstall the previous version of the license utility, see Uninstalling.

  2. To install version 3.6.00, follow the steps in Performing-the-installation.

    Warning

    Make sure to following step 8 in Performing-the-installation to overwrite the existing directory (click Yes to All to overwrite all files.)

  3. After reinstalling, you will need to add a new deployment for all products with the required information. (See Adding-deployments.)

 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
