3.5.00 enhancements

  • Two new products have been added:
    • Release Process Management (RPM) – 4.6.00 to 5.0.00
    • BMC Release Package and Deployment (RPD) – 4.8.00 to 5.0.00

  • Current product upgrade support has been added for:
    • BladeLogic Server Automation - BSA 8.8 and 8.9
    • TrueSight Capacity Optimization – TSCO 10.7
  • User Interface (UI) changes for improved customer experience
    • A tooltip has been added to the Email Reports button (License Report tab) to notify users to select the record(s) from the Select All column
    • The “Current License Report Run” label (License Report tab) has been changed to "License Report Run Notes"
    • The following note has been added to the Manage Deployment tab: “LU supports: English input language characters, numerals and special characters”
    • BSA 8.7 has been changed to 8.7 to 8.9

3.0.00 enhancements

  • The UI has been updated to enhance usability, including button and drop-down colors. See the Getting-started topic.
  • The BNA report has been updated to correspond to the report in the BNA product.

  • The Report File Prefix field has been added to the Manage Deployments form where you can enter the server name. This will be automatically appended to the report file name. See Adding deployments.
  • The Email Attachment File Prefix text box has been added to the License Report tab. This enables you to append a prefix to the file name, such as your organization's name, so that you can easily find the file in your default email client mailbox. See Emailing reports.
  • When reports are generated by the License Utility, a CSV file is created from the BMC product's native file. The License Utility internally converts the native file format (for example, XML or HTML) to the CSV format. See Running reports.

  • Installation
    • The installer includes a license for easier installation
    • The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is included with the utility, eliminating the need to install/upgrade the existing JRE installed on user computers
    • As part of the initial setup and prerequisites, an automated copy process was added for BMC product-specific script files 
    • A new feature was added to encrypt/decrypt credentials
    • New user interface

        • New robust and feature-rich user interface
        • License Report and Management Deployment tabs
        • New Help tab to provide user documentation 
  • Deployments
    • Add, edit and delete deployments with real-time connectivity test and validation for a given user session

    • Test existing deployments to ensure data validity at any point of time 
  • Reports 

    • You can run license usage reports on: ADDM, ARS, BDA, BNA, and BSA

    • You can run reports for deployments hosted on both Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
    • When running license usage reports, you can:

        • Select single, multiple, or all deployments 
        • Select various duration times (start and end dates for the report time frame)
        • View real-time status messages while the report is running

Creating PDF exports

You can create a PDF of a page or a set of pages. (Non-English page exports are not supported.) You can also create a Word document of the current page.

To export to PDF

  1. Click the Export icon in the upper-right. 1744830844926-963.png
  2. From the Export menu, select PDF.
  3. Follow the prompts for page selection and other options.
  4. Click Export.
