To publish a policy
You cannot publish policies that are in a disabled state or contain actions that are disabled.
- In the BMC Helix Intelligent Automation console, go to Policies.
- Search for the policy that you want to publish, and click Actions > Publish.
The policy status changes to Published. When an event that matches the trigger conditions in the policy appears, the policy is run.
To move a policy to a draft state
- In the BMC Helix Intelligent Automation console, go to Policies.
- Search for the policy and click Actions > Move to Draft.
The policy status changes to Draft, and it can no longer be matched and run against the incoming events based on the trigger condition. However, you can edit a policy when it is in a draft state.
To delete a policy
You cannot delete a policy unless it is in a draft state.
- In the BMC Helix Intelligent Automation console, go to Policies.
- Search for the policy that you want to delete, and if the status is Draft or Disabled, click Actions > Delete.
After you delete a custom policy, the policy no longer appears on the Automation Policies page. However, if the policy has any associated failed or successful instances, they are displayed on the Policy Runs page until the policy's retention period is reached (default is 90 days). Instances that are still running remain unaffected until they reach a completion stage.
