Managing the warehouse database


The reports data warehouse are set up during configuration. After configuration, you can make changes to your reports data warehouse.

You can use the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console to modify the reports data warehouse parameters.

To modify the reports data warehouse database parameters

  1. Launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

    Perform the following steps to access the console:
    1. To view the home page for the console on Microsoft Windows or UNIX systems, click Start > Programs > TrueSight Server Automation - Data WarehouseConsole.
      Alternatively, you can enter the following address into a web browser: 
      https://reportsServer:portNumber/tssa-dw
      • reportsServer is the server that hosts TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
      • portNumber is the web server secure port that you specified during installation. 
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse Administrator (DWAdmin) credentials. By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
    4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
    5. Click LOG IN.
  2. From the Configuration menu, select Database Details.
  3. Click the Modify button EditIcon.pngin the Warehouse Database row.
  4. On the Modify Warehouse Database Details page, modify the parameters:
    Field definitions

    Field

    Description

    Host Name

    Host name or IP address of the reports data warehouse database server

    Port

    Port number on which the reports data warehouse database server listens

    SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server)

    Service ID or name for the reports data warehouse

    User Name

    Reports data warehouse user name

    Password

    Password for the reports data warehouse user

    Confirm Password

    Confirmed password for the reports data warehouse user

  5. Click Update. The Last Task Details page confirms whether the details were modified successfully.

    Note

    Click Reset to revert to the previous settings.


  6. Modify the datasource password in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse

    Perform the following steps to modify the datasource password.
    1.  Log in to TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse

      Click here for the steps to log in to the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.
      1. To view the home page for the console on Microsoft Windows or UNIX systems, click Start > Programs > TrueSight Server Automation - Data WarehouseConsole.
        Alternatively, you can enter the following address into a web browser: 
        https://reportsServer:portNumber/tssa-dw
        • reportsServer is the server that hosts TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse

      3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
      4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
      5. Click LOG IN.
    2. Click Reports to launch the TrueSight Smart Reporting Home page. 
    3. In the left navigation bar, expand image2019-3-12_7-25-33.png  and go to Administration > Admin console.
    4. Click Data Sources and then click the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse datasource.
    5. Click Connection Settings.
    6. Make the required changes in the provided fields.
      For example, if you are changing the password, do the following:
      1. In the Password field, click the Click here to change password link
      2. Add the changed password in the text field.
    7. Click Test Connection. If the details are correct, a connection success message appears.
    8. Click Save.

  7. (For UNIX ) Navigate to the $BDS_HOME directory and run the following syntax:
    ./blreports restart

    (For Windows) Restart the Web server service and Authentication Service for reports.
