Restricting access in TrueSight Smart Reporting


Users can access data in TrueSight Smart Reporting based on their roles and permissions in TrueSight Presentation Server. TrueSight Smart Reporting uses device and Configuration Item (CI) permissions to display data on the reports. 

Role-based access for TrueSight Smart Reporting users

TrueSight Smart Reporting users have role-based access to data and events while creating TrueSight Smart Reporting reports. TrueSight Smart Reporting users are authorized to view data for a device or a CI. TrueSight Smart Reporting Administrators can grant the access for specific devices or monitor groups to specific users.

Access to events depends on the device with which an event is associated. Events that are not associated to any device are unmapped events. TrueSight Smart Reporting Administrators can grant a separate TrueSight Presentation Server permission to TrueSight Smart Reporting users to access unmapped events.

Tenant-based access for TrueSight Smart Reporting reports

Access to TrueSight Smart Reporting reports and dashboards is restricted based on the tenant. The users of one tenant cannot view the event, device, or Configuration Item (CI) report of any other tenant. Similar to the permissions on TrueSight Presentation Server, default tenant administrators can view the reports of all tenants.
