Assigning TrueSight Smart Reporting permissions to TrueSight Presentation Server users



As an administrator, create a TrueSight Smart Reporting Authorization Profile in TrueSight Presentation Server and assign TrueSight Presentation Server users to the Authorization Profile. These users can access TrueSight Smart Reporting according to their permissions in the Authorization Profile.

This topic lists down the TrueSight Smart Reporting permissions and Roles that you can use while creating an Authorization Profile. This topic also provides information about assigning an Authorization Profile to a user.

The following table lists the Roles and Authorization Profiles that are mapped to the user permissions for TrueSight Smart Reporting. 

The following persona-based authorization profiles are created in the TrueSight Presentation Server for the * tenant (realm) during the installation of the TrueSight Presentation Server component:

  • API-Only User
  • Application Specialist–Applications
  • Application Specialist–Services
  • Capacity Administration
  • Capacity Planning
  • Capacity View
  • Cloud Cost Control
  • Cloud Cost Control Consumer
  • Executive
  • IT Operations User
  • Service Manager
  • Solution Administrator
  • Technology Specialist

To assign the correct Authorization Profile to a TrueSight Presentation Server user

The following steps describe how to create an Authorization Profile for TrueSight Smart Reporting and assign it to a TrueSight Presentation Server user. After you assign the Authorization Profile to the TrueSight Presentation Server user, the user can access TrueSight Smart Reporting.

  1. Create a user in Remedy Single Sign-On (SSO) and add the user to a group. For more information on creating users in Remedy SSO, see Setting up Local User Management authentication in Remedy SSO.

  2. In the TrueSight console, create a role, and assign the Access Smart Reports permission to the role.

  3. Go to Administration > Authorization Profiles.
  4. On the Authorization Profiles page, click the action menu to create an authorization profile for TrueSight Smart Reporting.
