Fresh installation of Smart Reporting 20.02 might not work due to license key expiration


BMC Software is alerting users to a serious problem that requires immediate attention in version 20.02 of the Smart Reporting product. The fresh installation of Remedy Smart Reporting 20.02 might not work, as the license key will expire post-December 31, 2021. If you have any questions about the problem, contact Customer Support.

Issue

The fresh installation of Remedy Smart Reporting 20.02 might not work due to the expiry of the license key. For fresh installations of the 20.02 version, check the license key expiry date on the License Management page and upload the new license file. The following table describes when you must upload the new license file:

December 31, 2021

Remedy Smart Reporting will not work post-December 2021. You must upload the new license.

December 31, 9999

No action required. You can ignore this notification.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Remedy Smart Reporting by using the siadmin account to the Default organization through the application's direct URL:
    • Bundled Tomcat: http(s)://SmartReporting_host:<port>
    • External Tomcat: http(s)://SmartReporting_host:<port>/SmartReporting
  2. Navigate to Administration > Admin Console, and then click License Management.
    If the expiry date shown in the Current License screen is December 31, 2021, perform the steps as shown in the Knowledge Article Remedy-Smart-Reporting-How-to-Add-New-License to upload a new license.
