20.02.03: Patch 3 for version 20.02


This topic contains information about fixes and updates in this patch, and provides instructions for downloading and applying the patch.

Before you begin

Make sure that the following prerequisites are met:

  • Your Remedy Smart Reporting is running.
  • Remedy Smart Reporting version is 20.02.02.

In case you need to roll back the patch later, perform these steps to back up your existing Remedy Smart Reporting:

  1. Log in to the system where Remedy Smart Reporting is installed.
  2. Stop the BMC Remedy Smart Reporting Tomcat service.
  3. Navigate to the directory where Remedy Smart Reporting is installed. 
  4. Back up the entire Tomcat directory and Remedy Smart Reporting database.

Enhancements

This patch provides the updated UI due to the Yellowfin 9 upgrade.

Important

  • The patch does not support the new features or improvements available in Yellowfin 9. It is intended to support only the existing features and capabilities.
  • The videos listed in this product documentation show an older version of the product. Although the UI is slightly different, the overall functionality remains the same.

To download the patch

Download the patch from the EPD website. To access the website, you must provide your BMC Helix Support credentials. You must be licensed for the product to access the download page. You may be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

To download the patch, perform these steps:

  1. Access the following EPD link and log in with your credentials:
    Remedy AR Server 20.02.00
  2. Click the Patches tab.
  3. Download the following file:
    • (Windows): BMC Smart Reporting Installer Windows Version 20.02.03
    • (Linux): BMC Smart Reporting Installer Linux Version 20.02.03

To apply the patch

  1. Copy the following file that you downloaded from EPD to the system where Remedy Smart Reporting is installed.
    • (WindowsSmartReporting20.02Patch3_Windows.zip
    • (LinuxSmartReporting20.02Patch3_Linux.tar.gz
  2. Extract the copied file.
  3. Open config.properties and add the details, such as database name, host, port, and credentials.
  4. Run the following command:
    • (WindowsSmartReporting2002Patch3Upgrade.bat
    • (Linux) ./SmartReporting2002Patch3Upgrade.sh
  5. Provide your confirmation to proceed.

To roll back the patch

  1. Log in to the system where Remedy Smart Reporting is installed.
  2. Stop the BMC Remedy Smart Reporting Tomcat service.
  3. Restore the Smart Reporting Database that you backed up earlier.
  4. Delete the SmartReporting, AdminConsole, and onboarding folders and their contents from the following directory:
    TomcatDirectory > webapps
  5. Copy the SmartReporting, AdminConsole, and onboarding folders with their contents from the TomcatDirectory > webapps directory that you backed up earlier, and paste them to the TomcatDirectory > webapps directory.
  6. Start the BMC Remedy Smart Reporting Tomcat services.
  7. Verify that everything works as expected.
