Requirements for the Reporting server computer

You can install the Reporting server on a Solaris or Windows computer. Most of the Business Objects software is installed here.

If this computer is a different system from the computer hosting the solution database host server, you must install the database client software on the computer for connecting to the solution database. For example, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting contains the Oracle database. If this database is on a remote host, Oracle client will be required.

For the Oracle client installer, contact your vendor.

Ports	Business Objects needs a series of ports for its use; they must not be in use by any other process. The Apache Tomcat software must have unique port numbers for their use which are not in use by any other processes.
