System requirements

This section describes the hardware and software requirements for installing BMC Reporting Foundation. For more information about additional requirements for the particular BMC reporting solution set that you are installing, see the user documentation for the solution set.

You can install the BMC Reporting Foundation server components and Foundation database on either Windows or Solaris computers. However, the BMC Reporting Foundation Client Tools, a required administrative component, can be installed on only a Windows computer.

Use the following table to locate information for each type of installation. Verify that the target computer meets the installation requirements listed in the appropriate table or tables.
