Installation prerequisites


  The BMC Reporting Foundation database is the database that stores information about the BusinessObjects Enterprise system and its users.

  • During installation the default database will be installed. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 is the default database for Windows platform and IBM DB2 is the default database for Unix platform. BMC recommends to use default database.
  • If you want to use a licensed version of one of the supported databases, contact your database administrator (DBA) for the installation procedure.

Before you install BMC Reporting Foundation, verify that the target computers meet the installation requirements listed in System requirements.
