Installing all BMC Reporting Foundation components on one computer
Use the following procedure to install all the BMC Reporting Foundation components on one computer.
Before you begin
- Ensure that you have the BMC Reporting Foundation - Windows Full Install DVD.
- Ensure that the target computer meets the System-requirements-and-product-compatibility.
- The account that will run BMC Reporting Foundation as a service must already exist and must be a member of the Administrators group.
- You must be logged on as a member of the account that will run BMC Reporting Foundation as a service.
- You cannot install BMC Reporting Foundation on a domain controller or on a computer where the Windows default security settings for the local Administrators group have been modified.
- If you prefer to use Apache, there is no prerequisite action because Apache is installed at the same time as BMC Reporting Foundation. See Web-servers for more information.
- Do not specify a path that contains spaces, parentheses, dollar ($ ) symbols and percent (% ) symbols.
- You must be logged on with an account that has rights to modify the %temp% directory.
- Ensure that the file path of the directory where you run the installation program is less than 280 characters in length.
To install BMC Reporting Foundation
- From the files you downloaded from the BMC EPD site, select and decompress BRF_WIN_SERVER_41_SP3_FULL.zip.
- Navigate to <Installer_location> and run setup.exe to start the installation.
- On the Prerequisite checking page, confirm that prerequisite check for all components have succeeded and click Next.
- On the Welcome page, click Next to continue.
- On the License Agreement page, read the license agreement, and select the I accept to the terms of the License Agreement option, and click Next.
On the Configure Product Registration page, enter the product key code, and click Next.
On the Select Language Packs page, click Next.
- On the Select Install Type page, select Full, and click Next.
On the Configure Destination Folder page, enter the path or browse to the location where the product will be installed, and click Next.
On the Select Default or Existing Database page, select the Configure and install a Sybase SQL Anywhere database option and click Next.
- On the Select Java Web Application Server page, select the Install the default Tomcat Java Web Application Server and automatically deploy web applications option and click Next.
On the Select Version Management page, select the Configure and Install Subversion option and click Next.
On the Configure Server Intelligence Agent (SIA) page, enter the common service name in the Node Name box, and the port number in the SIA Port box.
On the Configure Central Management Server (CMS) page, click Next.
On the Configure CMS Account page, enter the CMS Administrator account password and the CMS Cluster key value.
- On the Configure Sybase SQL Anywhere page, enter the password for the SQL Server administrator account and BI platform user account and, port information, click Next.
On the Configure Tomcat page, click Next.
- On the Configure HTTP Listening Port page, review the HTTP Listening Port number.
On the Configure and install Subversion page, enter the password for the Repository user and click Next.
- On the Select Connectivity for Solution Management Diagnostics (SMD) Agent page, click Next.
- On the Select Connectivity to Introscope Enterprise Manager page, click Next.
- On the Start Installation page, click Next.
Click Finish after the installation is complete.
