Setting up GeoPacks

GeoPacks include geographical information that can work with your data without having to be incorporated and stored in your database.

To make GeoPack information available in your reports and maps, download the BMC Remedy Smart Reporting GeoPack file from the EPD downloads page for the respective version, and then import the .zip file to Remedy Smart Reporting.

Importing a GeoPack file

  1. Log in to BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting as a super admin, usually siadmin.
  2. On the BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting console, choose Administration > Admin Console.
  3. Select GeoPack Management.
  4. Click Add or Update GeoPack.
  5. Click Browse Files to locate a pack file to upload, or drag and drop a pack file onto the main panel.
    After the upload is complete, the GeoPack is listed in the pack list.

Updating GeoPacks

GeoPacks are updated over time as the borders and demographic data contained within them change. To make sure you are using the correct pack data in your maps, download updated packs.

After you download an updated pack, import the file as described in the procedure above. During the import, Smart Reporting recognizes the pack as a new version of an existing pack and overwrites the old one. All your existing maps automatically use the new pack data.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
