Configuring the Helix CSV data source plug-in
As an organization administrator, use the Helix CSV data source plug-in to visualize data from any source that returns CSV data, such as REST APIs, static servers, and local file paths.
To configure the Helix CSV plug-in
- Log in to BMC Helix Portal and open BMC Helix Dashboards.
- From the left pane, select Connections > Data sources.
- Click Add new data source.
- Select Helix CSV.

- On the Settings page, configure the following parameters:
Parameter Description Name Specify a name for the data source. This name is displayed for selection while configuring a panel.
(Optional) Use the Default toggle key to make this the default data source.
CSV Delimiter Specify the delimiter used in your CSV file, such as a comma or tab. The default is a comma. Comment If your CSV lines have comments, enter the comments delimiter. All the characters after this delimiter are considered as a comment. Trim leading space Use this toggle key to ignore any leading spaces encountered in the CSV data. SFTP Remote file Specify the path to the location of your CSV file. Host The host name of the SFTP server. Port The port number where the SFTP server runs. Ignore host key Use this toggle key to skip the verification of the server host key. Username The user name for the CSV endpoint (if applicable).
Password The password for the CSV endpoint (if applicable). Other File age Specify the age (hours) of the CSV file. Columns Add column Add column names that you want to display. - Click Save & test to complete the configuration.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
