1

Provide consent for data collection.

When you log in for the first time as a tenant administrator, provide your consent for data collection in the Allow data collection for product improvement dialog box. By default, the data collection settings are disabled for a tenant administrator.

To provide your consent for data collection for all the users:

  1. To enable data collection for performance and product improvement, select Enable data collection for performance and product improvement.
  2. (Optional) To enable data collection for your account, select Turn on data collection for my account for either performance and product improvement or for marketing and outreach or for both.
  3. Click Agree and submit
  4. You can modify your consent for data collection at any time. For more information, see Modifying-consent-for-data-collection.
    Important

If the tenant administrator has consented to data collection, the user will receive a notification.

Users can modify their consent for data collection at any time from **Profile** > **Preferences** page.

2

Set up user accounts and grant permissions

Set up users and user groups and assign specific permissions to them. Manage users in BMC Helix Portal and roles and permissions in BMC Helix Dashboards.

3

Visualize and analyze data

Use the out-of-the-box dashboards to visualize and analyze the data in your environment.

Optionally, configure new dashboards for custom use cases.

To set up a long-lived session for NOC dashboards

As a tenant administrator, you can set a dashboard session to never expire for one or more users as required.

Warning

Important

  • The NOC dashboard refresh window must be active on your computer. If you switch to a different window and remain there for longer than the Access Token Timeout value set in the BMC Helix Single Sign-On Admin Console, the prolonged NOC dashboard session will expire.
  • Set the dashboard auto-refresh for the NOC use case to take effect.

To prolong the dashboard session, enable the following option from BMC Helix Single Sign-On:

  1. Log in to the BMC Helix Single Sign-On Admin Console.
  2. Set the long-lived refresh tokens as shown in the following image.
For more information, see To configure the token timeout for OAuth clients using BMC Helix SSO.

  3. Save the changes.
  4. Log in to the BMC Helix Dashboards and add the dashboard permissions for the required users.
