Configuring the Helix CSV data source plug-in


Important
The procedure specified in this topic applies to on-premises customers only.

As an organization administrator, use the Helix CSV data source plug-in to visualize data from any source that returns CSV data, such as REST APIs, static servers, and local file paths. 

To configure the Helix CSV plug-in

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Portal and open BMC Helix Dashboards.
  2. From the left pane, select Connections Data sources.
  3. Click Add new data source.
  4. Select Helix CSV.

  5. On the Settings page, configure the following parameters:
    ParameterDescription
    Name

    Specify a name for the data source. This name is displayed for selection while configuring a panel.

    (Optional) Use the Default toggle key to make this the default data source.

    CSV
    DelimiterSpecify the delimiter used in your CSV file, such as a comma or tab. The default is a comma.
    CommentIf your CSV lines have comments, enter the comments delimiter. All the characters after this delimiter are considered as a comment. 
    Trim leading spaceUse this toggle key to ignore any leading spaces encountered in the CSV data.
    SFTP
    Remote fileSpecify the path to the location of your CSV file.
    HostThe host name of the SFTP server.
    PortThe port number where the SFTP server runs.
    Ignore host keyUse this toggle key to skip the verification of the server host key.
    Username

    The user name for the CSV endpoint (if applicable).

    PasswordThe password for the CSV endpoint (if applicable).
    Other
    File ageSpecify the age (hours) of the CSV file.
    Columns
    Add columnAdd column names that you want to display.
  6. Click Save & test to complete the configuration.
