Anomalies Overview dashboard

Anomalies indicate a deviation from the normal data pattern, such as irregular data spikes or a data break. They impact and disrupt the availability and performance of business services. To ensure that business services perform optimally, you need to monitor them to detect anomalies. Use the Anomalies Overview dashboard to visualize and analyze the anomalies that are generated based on univariate and multivariate events.

The dashboard provides the following information about anomalies:

  • Count of anomalies by type, severity, and status
  • Services and multivariate policies with the most anomalies
  • Anomaly details by service, such as events, incidents, situations, and change requests
Scenario

Jim is an operator at Apex Global. He is responsible for monitoring the health of business services and devices in the organization. He needs to ensure that these services and devices are functioning optimally to meet the required service-level agreements.

To get insights into the anomalies affecting these services and devices, Jim uses the Anomaly Overview dashboard. For instance, Jim notices that the Catalog Management Service is affected, which can critically impact customers by making it impossible for them to use the product catalog selection option. To investigate the issue, Jim drills down from this dashboard to the Anomalies by Service dashboard to view the impacted Catalog Management Service. Similarly, he can also access the Anomalies by Devices dashboard to analyze device-specific anomaly details, such as CPU utilization above the normal range.

This overview dashboard helps Jim take prompt remedial actions and restore the health of services and devices, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Jim can also refer to the Anomalies-By-Service-dashboard and Univariate-Anomalies-By-Device-dashboard to analyze and identify service-level and device-level issues.
