Upgrading BMC Atrium DIL
Use this procedure if just the BMC Atrium DIL component is installed on the computer.
- Back up your system and open a command window.
Enter the following command to verify that Java version 1.6.x.x or later is available:
java –version- If version 1.6.x.x or later is returned, proceed to step 4.
If you see an error message about an unrecognized command, or if the displayed Java version is not 1.6.x.x or later, edit the PATH system variable to include the following path:
DASHBOARDS_INSTALL_DIR/DIL/CIS/jre/bin
- Stop the Apache Tomcat service used with the BMC Dashboards for BSM installation, using the following instructions:
- For UNIX:
- Navigate to BMCDashboardsforBSMInstallationDirectory/BSMDashboards/bin.
Enter the following command:
shutdown-servers.sh -nodil
- For Microsoft Windows
- Use the Services dialog box to stop BSM Dashboards Tomcat or the Tomcat service used with BMC Dashboards for BSM.
- For UNIX:
- From the product CD for your operating system, or from the directory where you downloaded the product, navigate to Disk1/InstData/data/dil/bin.
Enter the following command at the command prompt:
java –jar UpgradeDIL.jar- Restart the Tomcat service, using the following guidelines:
- For UNIX:
- Navigate to BMCDashboardsforBSMInstallationDirectory/BSMDashboards/bin.
Enter the following command:
startup-tomcat.sh
- For Microsoft Windows
- Use the Services dialog box to start BSM Dashboards Tomcat or the Tomcat service used with BMC Dashboards for BSM.
- For UNIX:
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
