Description

Customization of the auto-refresh interval

To change the default auto-refresh interval in the Executive Console: 

  1. Open the dashboards.properties file located in the <InstallDir>\BMCDashboardsForBSM\BSMDashboards\tomcat\webapps\bsmdashboards\WEB-INF\classes directory.
  2. Change the value for the dashboards.autoRefresh.interval parameter; for example, dashboards.autoRefresh.interval=20.
  3. Restart the tomcat service.

Note

The changed auto-refresh interval affects all the executive users. 

Support for Oracle as an external BMC Atrium DIL metadata repository

Warning

Contact BMC Customer Support for help with setting up Oracle as an external BMC Atrium Data Integration Layer (DIL) metadata repository. This setup involves manual steps for which technical assistance is required.

Display of the number of concurrent BMC Dashboards for BSM users 

The number of concurrent BMC Dashboards for BSM users is now displayed in the Admin Console. Click Active Logins; the concurrent users are displayed in the Concurrent User(s) panel.

Display of the BMC Community feed on the UI 

BMC Dashboards for BSM now displays the feed from BMC Communities on the UI.

In Admin Console, click the Feed tab. The Discussions tab on the Dashboards Community Feed pane displays the top 10 feeds from BMC Communities related to BMC Dashboards for BSM.

Note

This option is not displayed in the Executive Console.

Support for Microsoft SQL Server Windows Authentication for BMC Remedy AR System

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports Microsoft SQL Server Windows Authentication for BMC Remedy AR System. For more information, see Selecting-Microsoft-SQL-Server-Windows-Authentication-as-a-data-source-for-BMC-Remedy-AR-System.

Additional tools for troubleshooting 

The following new tools are added to the <InstallDir>\BMCDashboardsForBSM\DIL\CIS\apps\dil\support\Tools directory for troubleshooting issues:

  • TestARUtility.jar
  • TestBPPM.class

Support for changing the host name of an existing version of BMC Dashboards for BSM 

Now change the host name of an existing BMC Dashboards for BSM version using an on-demand utility. This utility is not shipped with the product. Contact BMC Customer Support for the utility.

Upgrade of the JDK/JRE version to JRE 1.7.0_60

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.7.0_60.

Upgrade of Apache Tomcat server version to 7.0.54

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports Apache Tomcat server version 7.0.54.

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports the following browsers:

  • Mozilla FireFox 30

  • Apple Safari 5.1.7 

Supported BMC Software products

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports the following BMC Software products:

  • BMC Remedy Action Request System version 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00.

    Note

    If you upgrade from an older version of BMC Remedy AR System to version 9.0.00 or later and if BMC Dashboards for BSM is configured with an older version of BMC Remedy AR System, you must reconfigure BMC Remedy AR System for it to work with BMC Dashboards for BSM.

  • BMC Atrium CMDB Enterprise Manager versions 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00
  • BMC Atrium Single Sign-On version 9.0.00
  • BMC Service Level Management versions 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00
  • BMC Asset Management versions 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00
  • BMC Change Management versions 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00
  • BMC Service Request Management versions 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00
  • BMC Remedy Service Desk Application versions 8.1.01, 8.1.02, and 9.0.00
  • BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite version 9.5 Service Pack 1

Supported operating systems

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard
  • Oracle Solaris 11.1 SPARC
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago) 

 

Supported databases for the caching data source and the BMC Remedy AR System data source

BMC Dashboards for BSM now supports Oracle 12c as the database for the caching data source and the BMC Remedy AR System data source.
