Required system or account privileges

To install BMC Dashboards for BSM on Microsoft Windows, you must be a member of the Administrators group and be logged on as an administrator.

On UNIX or Linux, you can use a user without root privileges to run the installation, but you must have root privileges to execute the post-installation script. If you choose to install the product using a user with root privileges, you must ensure that the user mysql is present.

If you want to use LDAP to authenticate users, the BSM Dashboards for BSM administrator user name must be a valid user in the LDAP server and it must have the following attributes in its AD account: sn, givenName, mail.

If you want to use BMC Atrium SSO to authenticate users, the BSM Dashboards for BSM administrator user name must be a valid user in the BMC Atrium SSO server.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
