Deployment options

You can install BMC Dashboards for BSM in either a standalone or clustered configuration, to meet the needs of your environment. For more information, see the following topics:

If your ultimate deployment is planned as a clustered configuration but you want to install a standalone configuration first in a test environment, BMC recommends that you install a dual-server deployment, where the BMC Atrium Data Integration Layer (BMC Atrium DIL) server and BMC Dashboards for BSM application server are on separate computers. Using the dual-server deployment reduces the number of manual steps required if you choose later to reconfigure your standalone configuration to a clustered configuration.

If you attempt to install the product into a directory that contains non-English characters, the installation will fail. On a host with a non-English locale setting, if you install the product into a location where the directory name contains Englishonly characters, the installation will complete, and the product will display non-English characters correctly within the interface.
