BMC Dashboards for BSM provides a single graphical view that consolidates critical metrics for multiple IT processes. By combining metrics from BMC products (such as BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database [BMC Atrium CMDB], BMC Service Impact Manager [BMC SIM], BMC Remedy Information Technology Service Management [BMC Remedy IT Service Management], BMC Transaction Management Application Response Time [BMC TM ART], and BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management) and your own database and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, BMC Dashboards for BSM gives IT management users highly interactive access to cross-process metrics.
Also, BMC Dashboards for BSM:
- Includes best practice metrics and key performance indicators aligned with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices

BMC Dashboards for BSM presents an enterprise view of data from your environment in easy-to-understand graphs and charts in one or more pods and dashboards.
A pod is a customized view of a certain aspect of your IT infrastructure. It is a self-contained representation of specific information from one of the applications, such as information related to change management from the BMC Remedy Change Management component. If a pod relies on data from an application that you do not have installed, that pod is disabled in the pod catalog.
To create a dashboard, you place pods into dashboard framework. You can use a dashboard template, which consists of a preconfigured set of pods in a dashboard framework and provides a quick way to create common dashboards.
The dashboard’s single, integrated view spans all solutions that play a role in BSM and puts the data that you need at your fingertips. You can traverse service information and all of its corresponding BSM constituents such as pending and current changes, incidents, availability, and performance. You can also view metrics for a particular line of business with those of IT and operations, and thus measure, monitor, and manage the activities in the larger context.
