Selecting Microsoft SQL Server as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System
This section explains the following procedures:
- Allowing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System
- Allowing Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System
- Creating a custom data source for Microsoft SQL Server 2012
- Creating a custom data source for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Windows Authentication or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Windows Authentication
Allowing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System
You can select Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System:
- Go to the Admin Console for BMC Dashboards for BSM and on the BMC Dashboards for BSM Login screen, enter your administrator login ID and password.
- Click Login.
- Go to Data Source Configuration > BMC Remedy AR System Server and click the Connection tab.
- For the Database Type field, select Microsoft SQL Server 2008 from the drop-down menu.
- Fill in the required information for the remaining fields and click Save.
Allowing Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System
You can select Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System:
- Go to the Admin Console for BMC Dashboards for BSM and on the BMC Dashboards for BSM Login screen, enter your administrator login ID and password.
- Click Login.
- Go to Data Source Configuration > BMC Remedy AR System Server and click the Connection tab.
- For the Database Type field, select Microsoft SQL Server 2012 from the drop-down menu.
- Fill in the required information for the remaining fields and click Save.
Creating a custom data source for Microsoft SQL Server 2012
Follow the steps given below to create a custom data source for Microsoft SQL Server 2012:
- Go to the Admin Console for BMC Dashboards for BSM and on the BMC Dashboards for BSM Login screen, enter your administrator login ID and password.
- Click Login.
- Go to Data Source Configuration > Custom Data Sources and click New Custom Data Source.
- Under the Database Properties section, for the Database Type field, select Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
- Fill in the required information for the remaining fields and click Save.
Creating a custom data source for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Windows Authentication or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Windows Authentication
Follow the steps given below to create a custom data source for Microsoft SQL Server Windows Authentication:
- Go to the Admin Console for BMC Dashboards for BSM and on the BMC Dashboards for BSM Login screen, enter your administrator login ID and password.
- Click Login.
- Go to Data Source Configuration > Custom Data Sources and click New Custom Data Source.
- Under the Database Properties section, for the Database Type field, select either Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Windows Authentication or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Windows Authentication.
- Fill in the required information for the remaining fields and click Save.
