BMC Software is releasing patch PADSG.8.0.00.011 to correct several problems in Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage for UNIX and Windows.

Note

This patch must be installed on top of the Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage PADSG.8.0.00.009 patch, or the PADSG.8.0.00.010 patch for Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese support.

Description

CTM-2198

Jobs end Not OK when the Parameters Type job definition attribute is set to Server or Server and File and one or more of the retrieved parameter values contain a semicolon.

CTM-5478

You can now install Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage on Control-M/Agent on Linux 64-bit.

CTM-6766

One or more IBM InfoSphere DataStage jobs appear to execute indefinitely in the Monitoring domain when a large number of jobs execute on one Agent.

Installing the Patch on UNIX/Linux

This procedure describes how to install patch PADSG.8.0.00.011 on UNIX/Linux.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no jobs are running.
  • Verify that the following patches are installed:
    • PADSG.8.0.00.009
    • (Optional) PADSG.8.0.00.010, for Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese support.
  • Download the installation package via EPD to a temporary directory, as described in Obtaining Control-M Installation Files.

Begin

  1. Log in to the Agent account and run the following command to stop the Agent:
    shut-ag
  2. Run the following command to stop the Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage plug-in:
    ${HOME}/ctm/cm/DATASTAGE/exe/ctmdatastage_container stop
  3. From the temporary directory, run the following command to extract the patch installation file:
    • UNIXtar -xvf PADSG.8.0.00.011_Unix.tar.gz
    • Linuxtar -xvf PADSG.8.0.00.011_Linux.tar.gz
  4. From the temporary directory, run the following command to install the patch:
    PADSG.8.0.00.011/install_patch.sh
  5. From the Agent account, run the following command to start the Agent:
    start-ag

Installing the Patch on Windows

This procedure describes how to install patch PADSG.8.0.00.011 on Windows.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no jobs are running.
  • Verify that the following patches are installed:
    • PADSG.8.0.00.009
    • (Optional) PADSG.8.0.00.010, for Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese support.
  • Download the installation package via EPD to a temporary directory, as described in Obtaining Control-M Installation Files.

Begin

  1. Stop the Control-M/Agent service in Windows Services.
  2. Run the following command to stop the Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage plug-in:
    <Agent_Home>\cm\DATASTAGE\exe\ctmdatastage_container stop
  3. Extract the downloaded patch installation file. 
  4. From the temporary directory, run the following command to install the patch:
    PADSG.8.0.00.011
    \install_patch.bat
  5. Start the Control-M/Agent service in Windows Services.

Uninstalling the Patch from UNIX/Linux

This procedure describes how to uninstall patch PADSG.8.0.00.011 from UNIX/Linux.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no jobs are running.

Begin

  1. Log in to the Agent account and run the following command to stop the Agent:
    shut-ag
  2. Run the following command to stop the Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage plug-in:
    ${HOME}/ctm/cm/DATASTAGE/exe/ctmdatastage_container stop
  1. Run the following command:

    ${HOME}/ctm/patches/PADSG.8.0.00.011/uninstall_patch.sh

  2. From the Agent account, run the following command to start the Agent:
    start-ag

Uninstalling the Patch from Windows

This procedure describes how to uninstall patch PADSG.8.0.00.011 from Windows.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no jobs are running.

Begin

  1. Stop the Control-M/Agent service in Windows Services.
  2. Run the following command to stop the Control-M for IBM InfoSphere DataStage plug-in:
    <Agent_Home>\cm\DATASTAGE\exe\ctmdatastage_container stop
  3. Run the following command:

    <Agent_Home>\ctm\patches\PADSG.8.0.00.011\uninstall_patch.bat

  4. Start the Control-M/Agent service in Windows Services.
