BMC Software is releasing patch PAAFP.9.0.21.002 to correct several problems in version 9.0.21.000 of Control-M Managed File Transfer.

Installing Control-M MFT Patch PAAFP.9.0.21.002 on UNIX

This procedure describes how to install Control-M MFT patch PAAFP.9.0.21.002 on UNIX.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that Control-M jobs are not running on the Agent.
  • Verify that Control-M MFT 9.0.21 is installed.
  • If you are using an AIX operating system, run the following command as a root user to remove unused libraries from memory:
    /usr/sbin/slibclean
  • (Red-Hat 8 and Oracle Linux 8 only) Verify that libnsl.so.1 is installed. For more information, see KA 000404923.

Begin

  1. Download the patch installation package, as described in Obtaining Control-M Installation Files.
  2. Log in to the account where Control-M/Agent is installed and copy the installation package to a temporary directory on your local hard drive (not a network drive).
  3. Stop the Control-M/Agent by typing the following command:
    shut-ag
  4. Navigate to the temporary folder where you downloaded the patch.
  5. Extract the patch tar.Z file, using the following command:
    zcat PAAFP.9.0.21.002_unix.tar.Z | tar -xvf -
  6. Run the following command
    Unix/setup.sh
  7. Start the Control-M/Agent by typing the following command:
    start-ag

This procedure describes how to install Control-M MFT patch PAAFP.9.0.21.002 on Windows.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that Control-M jobs are not running on the Agent.
  • Verify that Control-M MFT 9.0.21 is installed.

Begin

  1. Download the patch installation package, as described in Obtaining Control-M Installation Files.
  2. Log in to the account where Control-M/Agent is installed, copy the installation package to a temporary directory on your local hard drive (not a network drive), and then extract the package.
  3. Stop the Control-M/Agent in Windows Services.
  4. From the Task Manager, stop the Control-M/Agent p_ctmam.exe process
  5. Stop the Control-M Managed File Transfer container by typing the following command:
    <Agent home dir>\cm\AFT\exe\ctmaftcontainer stop
  6. Run the following command
    PAAFP.9.0.21.002_windows_x86_64.exe.


    InformationIf User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, you must run the executable as an Administrator.
     

  7. Start the Control-M/Agent in Windows Services.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no jobs are running on the Agent.

  2. Stop the Control-M/Agent by typing the following command:
    shut-ag

  4. Start the Control-M/Agent by typing the following command:
    start-ag

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no jobs are running on the Agent.

Begin

  1. Log in to the Control-M Managed File Transfer user account under the Control-M/Agent installation..
  2. Stop the Control-M/Agent in Windows Services.
  3. From the Task Manager, verify that the Agent AM process (p_ctmam.exe) is not running. 

    If it is running, end the process.

  4. From the Control Panel, select Program and Features.
  5. Select CONTROL-M Managed File Transfer 9.0.21.002 and click Uninstall.
  6. Start the Control-M/Agent in Windows Services.
