BMC Software is releasing Control-M/Agent patch PAKAI.9.0.21.304 to correct the following problems in Control-M/Agent on UNIX and Windows.

Important

Verify that Control-M/Agent 9.0.21.300 is installed before you install this patch. This patch is cumulative. You do not need to install previous patches.

Description

CTM-11548

The Agent is unavailable when the following occurs:

  • The Agent is not set to communicate via SSL, but Control-M/Server is set to communicate via SSL.
  • The Agent is set to communicate via SSL, but Control-M/Server is not set to communicate via SSL.

CTM-11498

(Windows) The ctmldnrs utility fails to run when it is invoked from a job on Control-M/Server local Agent.

CTM-11626

(Windows) Jobs appear as Executing instead of Ended Not OK in a Viewpoint, with the job state Disappeared, after the Agent host restarts.

CTM-11691

(Windows) Successive Agentless host jobs fail with the job log message Job disappeared, even though the jobs successfully run and execute, four minutes after an initial Agentless Host job fails to respond to an Agent submit request. 

CTM-12013

Agents fail to recover their communication with Control-M/Server when the Control-M/Server is in a cluster and switches between hosts. The following error message appears in the Agent logs:

java.io.UncheckedIOException: java.io.IOException: Not connected after connectTimeout

CTM-12114

(Windows) The p_ctmam process utilizes excessive memory when the Agent submits jobs to an Agentless Host.

Installing Control-M/Agent Patch PAKAI.9.0.21.304 Patch on UNIX

This procedure describes how to install Control-M/Agent patch PAKAI.9.0.21.304 on UNIX.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that no Control-M jobs are executing on the Agent.

Begin

  1. Log in to the account where Control-M/Agent is installed.
  2. Download the installation package from Control-M/Agent 9.0.21 Patches.
  3. Save the downloaded installation package to a temporary directory on your local hard drive (not a network drive).
  4. Navigate to the Control-M/Agent home directory.
  5. Run the following command to shut down the Agent:
    shut-ag

    Note

    If the Agent is running as root, you must run this command as a privileged user.

  6. Run the following command to ensure that the installation file has the necessary authorizations:
    chmod +x <Temporary_Directory>/PAKAI.9.0.21.304_<Platform>_INSTALL.BIN
  7. Run the following command:
    <Temporary_Directory>/PAKAI.9.0.21.304_<Platform>_INSTALL.BIN
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
  9. Run the following command to start up the Agent:
    start-ag

    Note

    If the Agent is running as root, you must run this command as a privileged user.

Installing Control-M/Agent Patch PAKAI.9.0.21.304 on Windows

This procedure describes how to install Control-M/Agent patch PAKAI.9.0.21.304 on Windows.
