Control-M/Agent PAKAI.9.0.21.201


BMC Software is releasing patch PAKAI.9.0.21.201 to resolve several issues in version 9.0.21.200 of Control-M/Agent on Windows host computers.
This patch is installed on top of Control-M version 9.0.21.200 on Windows.

Description

CTM-9628

OS jobs sometimes fail to submit when more than one Agent instance is installed on the same Windows machine.

The following errors are issued:

  • Failed to receive AM confirmation on job submit
  • ReadFile operation is pending

CTM-9613

Communication between Agent processes p_ctmag and p_ctmam sometimes has errors, mainly when the machine is very busy . This causes a delay in job completion tracking.

CTM-9570

Jobs disappear or appear as executing even though they finished executing when a Windows machine is experiencing a heavy workload.

Installing the Patch on Windows

This procedure describes how to install patch PAKAI.9.0.21.201 on Windows.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that Control-M/Agent 9.0.21.200 is installed.
  • Obtain the installation package via EPD, as described in Obtaining-Control-M-Installation-Files.
  • Verify that Control-M jobs are not running on the Control-M/Agent.

Begin

  1. Log in as the Control-M/Agent user.
  2. Navigate to Control-M/Agent home directory.
  3. Run the following command:
    <temporary directory>\PAKAI.9.0.21.201_windows_x86_64.exe

Note

If you had changed the Agent configuration to bypass the issues resolved by this patch, revert to the default configuration after applying the patch: In the registry, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BMC Software\Control-M/Agent\WIN and set SOCKET_AM_AS_COM to a value of N.

Uninstalling the Patch from Windows

This procedure describes how to uninstall patch PAKAI.9.0.21.201 from Windows.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that Control-M jobs are not running on the Control-M/Agent.

Begin

  1. Log in as the Control-M/Agent administrator.
  2. Navigate to the Control-M/Agent home directory.
  3. Run the following command:
    <AGENT_HOME>\install\PAKAI.9.0.21.201\uninstall.bat
