Dynatrace Upgrade to Version 1.327 Causes Control-M/EM Process Crashes

BMC is alerting you to a critical issue with Control-M/Enterprise Manager when Application Performance Monitoring is enabled with Dynatrace tools. After you upgrade Dynatrace to version 1.327, Control-M/Enterprise Manager (EM) processes may crash, which results in loss of connectivity, freezes, and operational instability.

This behavior has been reproduced in multiple Linux environments and has been confirmed to be directly related to changes introduced in Dynatrace 1.327.

Impact

This issue has the following impact on Control-M:

  • Control-M/Enterprise Manager processes may freeze unexpectedly.
  • Processes may crash shortly after Dynatrace agent activation.
  • Customer schedules and monitoring functions may become unavailable or unreliable.

Recommended Action

Until a permanent fix is released, BMC strongly recommends the following actions:

  • Do NOT upgrade Dynatrace to version 1.327 on servers that run Control-M/Enterprise Manager.
  • If the upgrade has already been applied, follow the instructions provided in Knowledge Article 000446367.
  • Continue monitoring BMC Proactive Notifications for the permanent fix to issue CTM-13123.
