Announcing the End of Support for Oracle Solaris 11 on Control-M/Agent

After an in-depth assessment of future platform supportability and marketplace demands, BMC is announcing changes to product compatibility.

Starting with Control-M version 9.0.22, BMC will discontinue its support for Control-M/Agent on Oracle Solaris 11. 

BMC recommends using one of the following supported platforms for Control-M/Agent 9.0.22:

  • Microsoft Windows (Intel x86_64)
  • Linux (Intel x86_64, PowerPC, Zlinux )
  • AIX

Earlier releases of Control-M/Agent prior to 9.0.22 and below continue to support Oracle Solaris 11.

As a solution to continue to schedule jobs on Oracle Solaris, you can use a Remote Host, as discussed in Control-M/Agent and Remote Hosts. For further information to help the transition from the use of an Agent to a Remote Host solution, BMC issued the following whitepaper on Agentless Technology.

This change is in accordance with the BMC Software Product Support Policy.
