Control-M Automation API CLI on Specific Linux Platforms End of Support

31 July 2023

Announcing the end of support for Automation API CLI for Amazon Linux 2, and SUSE Linux 12, in addition to the previous announcement made on 20 March 2023 for Red Hat 7, Oracle Linux 7, and CentOS 7

To keep up with security updates, Node.js on Control-M/Agent and Control-M/EM must be updated to Node.js v18 or later. Control-M Automation API Command Line Interface (CLI) will not be available on the following platforms as they do not support a secure version of Node.js:

  • Amazon Linux 2
  • SUSE Linux 12
  • Red Hat 7
  • Oracle Linux 7
  • CentOS 7

From Control-M 9.0.21.200, you cannot use the Control-M Automation API Command Line Interface (CLI) on Control-M/Agent and Control-M/EM installed on Amazon Linux 2, and SUSE Linux 12.

If you are using Control-M Automation API Command Line Interface (CLI) on Amazon Linux 2, and SUSE Linux 12, BMC recommends using one of the supported platforms to continue to use Control-M Automation API CLI for automation purposes.

This change is in accordance with the BMC Software Product Support Policy.
