Upgrading TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse using the wizard
Where you are in the Upgrade process
Do the following:
- Log in to the host computer on which you want to upgrade TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse.
- (Windows) Log in as an administrator.
- (Linux) Log in as a root user.
Extract the downloaded zip files (the installer) to the directory of your choice. For example,
- (Windows) C:\temp
- (Linux) /tmp
The Disk1 directory is created that contains the installation executable and other supporting files.
- Navigate to the Disk1 directory.
- Run the installer:
- (Windows) Double-click setup.exe or right-click setup.exe and run it as an administrator.
- (Linux)
- Run this command from the parent directory of the Disk1 directory to assign the executable permission to the installer file (setup.bin):
chmod +x -R Disk1 - Navigate to the Disk1 directory, and run this command: ./setup.bin

- Select the installation language, and click OK.
- Review the welcome page, and click Next.
- Read the End User License Agreement, agree to the terms, and click Next.

- Review the Installation Preview page and click Install to start the upgrade process.
The program runs a pre-check on the database connectivity. If there is no database connectivity with Datawarehouse database or Primary Site database, the following error messages are displayed:
- Data warehouse database failure:
Failed to connect to the Data Warehouse database.
Verify the bds.properties file has correct database information and make sure the database server is running. Primary site database failure:
Failed to connect to the Primary site database.
Verify the bds.properties file has correct database information and make sure the database server is running.
- Data warehouse database failure:
- After the upgrade is complete, the Summary page is displayed.
- Click View Log to view the log details on the screen. From the log view, you can expand and view the log messages.
- Click the specified URL to launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console in a web browser.
The console shows the Last Task Details page. - Verify the status of all tasks.
For a successful upgrade, all tasks must be completed successfully. - Click Done to exit the wizard.
Next step in the Upgrade process
Now that you have successfully upgraded TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse, the next step is to upgrade TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform, and then complete the post-upgrade tasks for TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse. Do the following:
If you are using TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 19.3 or earlier version, upgrade it to 20.02. If you have TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 20.02 or 20.02.01, proceed to the next step.
