Preparing to upgrade TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse

Where you are in the Upgrade process

Upgrading TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse requires you to complete various pre-upgrade tasks. Do the following:

Download the product files from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) location:TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
Review the System-requirements-for-TrueSight-Server-Automation-Data-Warehouse.
Ensure that you are upgrading from one of the versions supported by upgrade paths.
Ensure that all extract, transform, and load (ETL) runs have completed and that ETL is not running. For more information, see Viewing-the-ETL-status.
Ensure that you have disabled the NSH proxy on the reports server to avoid failure during upgrade. To disable the NSH proxy, run the following command on the NSH client:
secadmin -m default -p 5 -appserver_protocol clear -T encryption_only -e tls
This command removes the appserver_protocol=ssoproxy entry from the default line in the secure file (in the rsc folder).
Important
After the upgrade completes, remember to add this entry back into the secure file. Use the following command to add the entry:
secadmin -m default -p 5 -appserver_protocol ssoproxy

Back up the following:

Artifact	Files to back up
Databases	Reports data warehouse TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform repository database
User roles and permissions related file	The user_roles.csv file at the following path: <*tssadw_installation_directory>\shared\ConfigurationManagement*\

Enter the following command to rename the alias as applicable:
1. If you have imported the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform certificate with the alias name other than smartreporting:
  keytool -changealias -alias "<existing_alias_name>" -destalias "smartreporting" -keystore <tssadw_installation_directory>/jre/lib/security/cacerts
2. If you have RSSO authentication configured and imported the rsso certificate with alias name other than rsso:
  keytool -changealias -alias "<existing_alias_name>" -destalias "rsso" -keystore <tssadw_installation_directory>/jre/lib/security/cacerts
Restart the following services:
- TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
- Authentication Service
