Configuring TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
Configure TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse to specify the database and primary site details for retrieving data from TrueSight Server Automation.
Prerequisites
Make sure that the following requirements are met:
If you are using an SQL Server database, make sure that the data warehouse database user has the sysadmin privilege to create a database link between TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse and TrueSight Server Automation. For information about how to verify user privileges, see Database links in the Microsoft documentation.
To access the console, JavaScript must be enabled in your web browser.
- If you are migrating from BMC Decision Support for Server Automation, ensure the following:
- The RSCD Agent is up and running on both the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation and TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse servers.
The required file copy permissions are available for the administrator user on the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse host. For information about managing permissions for the RSCD Agents, see Controlling access at the agent level.
To configure TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
Do the following:
Use the following URL to open the login page of the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console:

- In the User Name and Password fields, enter the DWAdmin credentials. DWAdmin is the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator. By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click
.
- Click LOG IN.
On the Database Prerequisites tab, select one of the following options:
- If you are installing TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse for the first time, select Fresh install - Use new TSSA-DW Warehouse and do the following:
- If you have already created new databases and users, click Next.
- If the databases and users are not created, do the following to create them:
- Click Download the scripts to download the database and user creation scripts.
- Run the scripts to create databases and users. For instructions, see Setting-up-the-databases-for-TrueSight-Server-Automation-Data-Warehouse.
- Resume the configuration process.
If you want to use the existing BMC Decision Support for Server Automation databases and users, select Migration from BDSSA: Use the existing BDSSA Warehouse Database and copy the bds.properties file. This file contains the details of BMC Decision Support for Server Automation databases to be migrated. Do one of the following to copy the bds.properties file.
- To automatically copy the bds.properties file from the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation server to the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse server, do the following:
- Select Remote Copy.
- Specify the host name of BMC Decision Support for Server Automation server and click Start. The status of the copy process is displayed.
- After the file is copied, click Next.
- Select Remote Copy.
- To manually copy the bds.properties file from the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation server to the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse server, do the following:
- Select Local copy.
- Log in to the server where BMC Decision Support for Server Automation is installed.
- Copy the bds.properties file from the <bdssa_installation_dir>/shared/ConfigurationManagement directory of the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation server to the <TSSADW_installation_directory>/migrationData directory of the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse server.
- Click Start. The copied file is validated.
- After the file validation is completed, click Next.
- Select Local copy.
- To automatically copy the bds.properties file from the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation server to the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse server, do the following:
- If you are installing TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse for the first time, select Fresh install - Use new TSSA-DW Warehouse and do the following:
On the Warehouse Database tab, provide the following information and click Next.
Field definitions
On the Primary Site tab, provide the following information.
- Click Finish. The Last Task Details page displays the status and details of the last configuration or reconfiguration task that was run through the console.
- Click Configuration to activate the ETL Management menu.
