What are the supported TrueSight Server Automation versions?

How do I install the Inventory templates for TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse?

What do I do if I get an error related to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installation?
During TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse installation, the installer checks whether the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is in working state. You might receive an error message on a Windows 2012 R2 system when the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable is installed and the required Microsoft Updates are not installed.
As a prerequisite to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 on Windows 2012 R2, you must have the following patches installed on your server:
- KB2919442 (Required for 2919355)
- KB2919355. This patch requires several other patches: clearcompressionflag.exe, KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2959977, KB2937592, KB2938439, and KB2934018. This are all available on the download page for KB2919355.

Which versions of third-party products are included in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse?

What do I do when I change the Warehouse Database details like passwords and my reports are not showing data?
Once you modify the Warehouse Database password, you must modify the datasource name in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.

How do I do user management in TrueSight Smart Reporting?
For managing users, log in to TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform as a TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform administrator and navigate to Admin Console > Administration> Admin Console > User settings. For detailed instructions, see Managing-users-in-TrueSight-Smart-Reporting.
How can I broadcast to external email addresses?
By default, TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator (DWAdmin) can broadcast to external email addresses. If you want any other role to broadcast to external email addresses, ensure that TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator have selected the Multicast Reports and Multicast Access Filter Reports options for the specific role in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform. Also, while publishing the report, you must select Unsecure as the Email & Broadcast Security option.
To select the Multicast Reports and Multicast Access Filter Reports options for the specific role in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform, do the following:
- Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Smart Reporting login page:
https://<TrueSight Smart Reporting hostname>:port/tsr - In the Log in as list, select TrueSight Smart Reporting - Admin.
- In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Smart Reporting administrator credentials.
- Click LOG IN.
- In the upper right corner, and click Admin Console.
- Select Default from the Multi-tenant Login list.
- Click the menu icon in the upper left corner.
- Under Administration, click Admin Console.
- Expand Roles to display the list of all the roles.
- Click a required role and expand Report Menu.
- Select Multicast Reports and Multicast Access Filter Reports options.
- Click Save.
To select the Email & Broadcast Security option, do the following when you publish a report:
- Create a report.
- Click Publish.
- Go to Distribution tab.
- From the Email & Broadcast Security list, select Unsecure.

How can I use custom properties in TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation?
Custom properties are not supported in this release of TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation.
How to create user groups in TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation?

What do I do if I have installed TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse and TrueSight Smart Reporting on separate servers and the browser is not able to resolve the hostname?
Open your hosts file in a text editor (for example, notepad) and modify the IP address. The hosts file is present in the following location:
(Windows) C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
(Linux) /etc/
If I have archived reports in BMC Decision Support for Server Automation, can I use them in TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation?
No, you cannot use the reports that you have archived in BMC Decision Support for Server Automation.
However, you can take a note of the report attributes and create the same reports in TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation. For information about how to create reports, see Creating-reports.
If any view or report gets corrupted or deleted, how do I retrieve them?
Do the following:
Install the Content Pack again. For information about how to install the Content Pack, see Installing the Content Pack.
Import the latest content in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform by using the Update Content option in
TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform
. For information about how to use the Update Content option, see Getting-the-latest-views-in-TrueSight-Smart-Reporting.
The Content Pack includes only the out-of-the-box reports and views. Any modification that you have done is not available after importing the latest content. However, the reports or views saved as drafts are not deleted or modified.
What happens to the existing custom properties in the database?
Custom properties are not supported in this release of TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation.
What to I do if I cannot create reports by using Freehand SQL?
Ensure that TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform administrator has assigned the Public Content Writer & Collaborator - Advanced role to your user in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.

Does TrueSight Smart Reporting require a database? Is the database included as part of the out-of-the-box installation?
Yes. TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform uses a repository database, and the following databases are supported:
- Postgre SQL
- Oracle
- SQL
Postgre SQL is the default database and is shipped with TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.
Can I install TrueSight Smart Reporting silently?
Yes. See the Yellowfin documentation for information about silent installation.
After adding a component, how do I see the reports?
You can launch TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform from your TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console. You can view the out-of-the-box reports or you can create your own reports.
Can I upgrade to TrueSight Smart Reporting version 19.01 from version 11.3.01?
No. These two products are different, and an upgrade is not possible.
After adding a datasource for a component in TrueSight Smart Reporting, can I add another datasource?
No. Only one datasource can be added in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.
Can I use existing an existing application of Yellowfin, for example Remedy Smart Reporting, for TrueSight Smart Reporting?
No. You must use the Yellowfin application that is provided in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform because TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform integrates with TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse. You can use TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform only when you add TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouseas a component in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.
Is TrueSight Smart Reporting included in perpetual licenses?
No, TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform is not included in perpetual licenses because it is a new offering from BMC.
Do I require a license key for TrueSight Smart Reporting?
No. The TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform license key is included in the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform installer.
Does TrueSight Smart Reporting support the disaster recovery mode or a high-availability architecture?
No. TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform does not support the disaster recovery mode or a high-availability architecture.
