Managing sites

TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse sites and the reports data warehouse are set up during configuration. After configuration, you can make changes to your sites and the reports data warehouse. After installing TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse at the primary TrueSight Server Automation site, you can add more sites for reporting by using the console.

If you have more than one sites configured, ensure that you configure passwords for the databases of all TrueSight Server Automation sites expect Primary Site. This can be done by using the Configure Password link on the  Configuration > Database Details page. For more information, see Setting-database-passwords. 

Before you begin

(For SQL Server only) Assign the sysadmin role to the reports data warehouse user. This user needs this role to create the linked server. You can revoke this role assignment when the site addition operation is complete.  

To add a new site for reporting

  1. Launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

    Perform the following steps to access the console:
    1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
      https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
      Default user name: DWAdmin
      By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
    4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
    5. Click LOG IN.
  2. From the Configuration menu, select Database Details.
  3. In the Site Details section, click the Add Site link.

  4. On the Add New Site page, enter the required information to add a new TrueSight Server Automation site for reporting:

    Host Name
    Host name or IP address of the TrueSight Server Automation database server
    Port
    Port number on which the TrueSight Server Automation database server listens
    SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server)

    Service ID or Service name for the TrueSight Server Automation database
    User Name
    TrueSight Server Automation database user name
    Password
    Password for the TrueSight Server Automation database user
    Confirm Password
    Same password for confirming the TrueSight Server Automation database user
    Site Name
    The name with which a TrueSight Server Automation database is referred in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
    ETL Cutoff Period
    Number of past months for which you want the data to be transferred from the TrueSight Server Automation database to the reports data warehouseMinimum value: 3
    Maximum value: 36This field enables you to control the amount of data that is transferred to the reports data warehouse for the first time. This approach limits the amount of historical data that is loaded into the reports data warehouse and potentially reduces the duration of the first extract, transform, and load (ETL) run. For more information about planning and performing the initial ETL run, see Performing-the-initial-ETL-run.

  5. Click the Add Site button. The Last Task Details page confirms that the site has been added.

    Note

    Click Revert to revert to the previous settings.

  6. After you add a site, run the extract, transfer, and load (ETL) process to transfer data from the site to the reports data warehouse.

To view and modify site details

  1. Launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

    Perform the following steps to access the console:
    1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
      https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
      Default user name: DWAdmin
      By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
    4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
    5. Click LOG IN.
  2. Click Configuration > Database Details to display the details of the primary and other sites.
  3. In the Site Details section, click the Modify button EditIcon.png next to the site that you want to modify.

  4. On the Modify Site Details page, modify the parameters, as required:

    Site Name

    Site name for the TrueSight Server Automation database

    Host Name

    Host name or IP address of the TrueSight Server Automation database server

    Port

    Port number on which the TrueSight Server Automation database server listens

    SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server)

    Service ID or name for the TrueSight Server Automation database

    User Name

    Logon name for the TrueSight Server Automation database user

    Password

    Password for the TrueSight Server Automation database user

    Confirm Password

    Confirmed password for the TrueSight Server Automation database user

  5. Click Update. The Last Task Details page confirms whether the details were modified successfully. 

    Note

    Click Reset to revert to the previous settings.
