Accessing out-of-the-box views


As a TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse Administrator, you can access and edit the out-of-the-box views in TrueSight Smart Reporting for Server Automation.

A view is a metadata layer that defines relationships between tables and to identify fields to be accessed by the reports. Each view contains multiple folders, which contain fields that you can use to create reports.

The following table provides the list of out-of-the-box views:

To access out-of-the-box views

  1. Log in to TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

    1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
      https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
      Default user name: DWAdmin
      By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
    4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
    5. Click LOG IN.
  2. Click Reports to launch the TrueSight Smart Reporting Home page.
  3. In the left navigation bar, expand Browse > Views > TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse.
  4. Select the folder for which you want to access the views. All the available views are displayed in the main pane. For example, to access the Inventory views, select the Inventory folder.

  5. Double-click the view that you want to check. The View Summary window appears. It contains the following tabs.

    Description

    General

    This tab contains the details of the view, for example, the source name, the current status, and so on. You can also download the view documentation including the data dictionary in PDF or word format by using the Download PDF documentation or Download DOC documentation link.

    Fields

    This tab contains the list of columns in the view.

    SQL

    This tab contains the SQL query that is used to create the view.

    Reports

    This tab contains the list the reports in which the view is used.
