Deployments in cloud environments
TrueSight Server Automation supports managing servers that are provisioned in the public cloud data centers. To manage these servers, the following requirements must be met:
- The RSCD Agent is installed on the servers in the cloud, and the Smart Agent is enabled and configured.
 - The Application Server is connected to the RSCD Agents.

The Application Server can be located in an on-premises or a private cloud environment. The servers to be managed are usually behind a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) network in AWS. Depending on the method used to connect to the RSCD Agents, the following scenarios are supported:
Scenario | Action needed |
|---|---|
A SOCKS proxy is installed in each isolated VPC. The managed servers in the VPCs can be accessed via these SOCKS proxies. | None. The Application Server connects with the RSCD Agents through the SOCKS proxies. |
A SOCKS proxy is not installed in each VPC. Both ingress and egress connectivity exists in the VPC networks. |
The Application Server connects with the RSCD Agents through the SOCKS proxy installed in the Admin VPC. |
A SOCKS proxy is not installed in each VPC. Only egress connectivity exists in the VPC networks, and a shared Admin VPC is possible. |
The Application Server connects with the RSCD Agents through the Smart Hub Gateway. |
A SOCKS proxy is not installed in each VPC. A shared admin VPC is not possible. Also, VPN connectivity is not available between the Application Server and the Smart Hub Gateway that is installed in the cloud. |
