Introduction
This topic is intended for system administrators. The goal of this topic is to demonstrate the process of downloading and deploying a Microsoft Windows patch outside of the standard patch management mechanisms typically used in TrueSight Server Automation.
What is emergency patching?
In rare circumstances, you might need to perform an emergency Windows patch deployment outside of the standard TrueSight Server Automation Microsoft Windows patching and remediation process. Because patches typically undergo a validation cycle before they are available for download from the Shavlik Technologies website, patches might not be available using your update catalog process for up to 24 hours after their initial release on the Microsoft website. If the patch is critical and you cannot wait for the validation cycle, you can manually package and deploy the patch.
