Deploying Microsoft Office 365, 2019, and 2021 on offline target servers

You can update Microsoft Office 365, 2019, and 2021 to the required version on target servers that do not have an internet connection by using the Office Deployment Tool.

Before you begin

Download the Office Deployment Tool from the Microsoft's Download Center.

To configure the Group Policy

Important

Perform these steps for every new offline target server where you are updating Office 365.

Configure the Group Policy on the offline target server according to the recommendation from Microsoft.

BMC recommends that you enable the Management of Microsoft Office 365 Apps for enterprise.
Once you have applied the Administrative template files and configured the policy, navigate to Edit Group Policy to verify the Management of Microsoft Office 365 Apps For Enterprise value.

To download the Office 365 update

Important

Perform these steps whenever you want to update Office 365 to another version.

Execute the following command to download the Office 365 update:
setup.exe /download configuration.xml

    </Product>
</Add>
where Path to download is the shared path or http URL of the downloaded file.
Important
If you do not specify the Version, the latest available version is downloaded.
The office directory is created where the version of the software is downloaded.
Make sure that the office directory is accessible without a password.

To create a custom software in TrueSight Server Automation

Open the Office Deployment Tool.
Add the setup.exe file as a custom software.
1. Right-click on the folder where you want to configure the setup.exe file and click New > Software > Custom Software.
2. In the Add Depot Software window, under Installable source, select the setup.exe file from the server on which you have downloaded the Office Deployment Tool.
3. Under Install command, add the following command to configure the configuration.xml file:
  "??SOURCE??" /configure ??_CONFIGURATION_FILE??
4. In the Office Deployment Tool, under Support Files, provide the path for the configuration file created in To download the Office 365 update.
5. Click Next > Finish.
