Specifying includes and excludes

The Includes/Excludes section lets you specify server objects that should be included or excluded from a collection of server objects.

For example, you might want to exclude all log files or backup files in a directory. For more information, see Includes and Excludes.

To specify includes and excludes

  1. Select a server object in the Server Objects list and take one of the following actions:
    • Click Add New Include/Exclude g_V95_AddIcon.gif. A dialog box appears. For Name, enter a path to the server object you want to include or exclude, relative to the object you selected in the Server Objects list. If necessary, use wildcards in the path.
    • Select an existing include or exclude and click Modify g_V95_UpdateIcon.gif. A dialog box appears. For Name, enter a path to the server object you want to include or exclude, relative to the object you selected in the Server Objects list. If necessary, use wildcards in the path.
    • Click Add New Include/Exclude g_V95_AddNew.gif. A dialog box appears. In the list at left, select the server objects you want to include or exclude. You can select software or hierarchical server objects. Then click the right-arrow to move your selections to the Selected Parts list. When you select a server object in the Selected Parts list, its name appears in the Name field. If necessary, use the Name field to edit the path to the server object to include or exclude, relative to the object you selected in the first step. The path can include wildcards. The path can also include parameters, which you can type or enter by clicking Select Property g_V95_SelectPropertyIcon.gif.
  2. Depending on what you are specifying, click Include or Exclude.
  3. Click OK.
