SCAP rule result states
A rule can have nine result states.
State | Description |
|---|---|
Pass | The server complies with the condition in the rule. |
Fail | The server does not comply with the condition in the rule. |
Error | The rule could not be evaluated on the server because the checking engine encountered a system error and could not complete the test. |
Unknown | The rule could not be evaluated on the server because the checking engine encountered some problem and the result is unknown. |
Not applicable | The rule could not be applied on the server, possibly because it is specific to a different version of the target OS, or because it is a test against a platform feature that was not installed. |
Not checked | The rule could not be evaluated on the server by the checking engine because the rule has a role of "unchecked" or has no check properties. This status might also correspond to a status returned by a checking engine. |
Not selected | The rule was not selected in the Benchmark. |
Informational | The rule was checked, but the output from the checking engine is informational for the auditor or administrator. |
Fixed | The rule failed, but was then fixed, possibly by the checking engine that automatically applied remediation, or possibly by a human auditor. |
