Upgrading the file server

TrueSight Server Automation requires that an RSCD agent be installed on the computer where the file server resides. To upgrade the file server, upgrade the RSCD agent on that computer.

Note

  • If you use the unified product installer to perform the upgrade, this task is not required. The unified product installer upgrades the file server automatically.
  • If you use component installers to perform the upgrade, perform the following steps before you run the configurator utility:

    1. Navigate to the extracted zip folder of the UPI installer and locate the following installer bundles:
      • appserver_64
      • compliance_content
      • oraclexe
      • other_files
      • rcp
      • rscd
    2. Copy the installer bundles to the following location on the File Server:

      • For Linux: <File Server path> /storage/installer_bundle/linux/files
      • For Windows: <File Server path>\storage\installer_bundle\windows\files

The upgrade method depends on the platform and location of the file server:

  • Linux and UNIX: If the file server resides on:
    • The same computer as the Application Server — An upgrade of the Application Server also upgrades the RSCD agent.
    • A different computer from the Application Server — You must upgrade the agent on the computer where the file server resides.
  • Microsoft Windows: Upgrade of the RSCD agent is not part of Application Server upgrade. You must upgrade the agent on the computer where the file server resides, whether it resides on the same computer as the Application Server or not. New in 8.9.02Ensure that Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 is installed on the server. For more information, see Installing-the-RSCD-agent-Windows.
