Uninstalling using the unified product installer

This topic provides instructions for uninstalling TrueSight Server Automation along with its nodes and components that were installed using the unified product installer. You can choose between an interactive uninstallation or a silent (unattended) uninstallation.

Note

The unified product installer does not uninstall the following product components:

  • A file server that was installed on a separate host computer from the Application Server
  • The TrueSight Server Automation database
  • Any additional Application Servers beyond the default Application Server node.
  • RSCD agents installed using native installer packages. For steps on manually uninstalling these RSCD agents, see Installing-NSH-or-RSCD-agent-using-a-package and its children topics.
  • Unified agent installer uses native installer packages to install RSCD agents. You must manually uninstall these agents using the steps in Installing-NSH-or-RSCD-agent-using-a-package and its children topics.

The uninstallation process does not delete some log files that TrueSight Server Automation creates. If you plan to reinstall a later version of TrueSight Server Automation in the same location, be sure to completely remove all leftover files to avoid conflicts. The easiest way to do this is to delete all files in the installation directory after running the uninstallation process.

Before you begin

Before uninstalling components, you might want to back up configuration files. Otherwise, those files are deleted; and the next time you install TrueSight Server Automation you must recreate them. You might want to save the following configuration files:

  • All files in /etc/rsc (on Linux) or c:\WINDOWS\rsc (on Windows). This directory holds several important files, including the exports, users, and secure files. These files define communication and security settings for an RSCD agent.
  • The certificate.pem file. This file contains the agent's self-signed certificate and private key, which are needed to verify the integrity of secure logs.
