Component Template - Parts

The Parts panel lets you specify the server objects that make up the component template.

The Parts panel is optional. You can create an empty component template by skipping this panel when you create the component template. Later, during the editing process, you can add parts to the component template.

If you add rules on the Discover or Compliance tab, the rules editor automatically adds parts that are referenced in the rules to this panel. The rules editor also checks the appropriate Discover or Compliance check box.

You can specify parts by choosing them from live servers or Snapshot Job results. Alternatively, you can enter a path to a part without first selecting a particular server object or local object. If you are editing an existing component template, you can also select from local configuration, extended, or server objects.

Note

You must not have configuration file entry and configuration file with the same name. You can either have one of them. The same rule applies for Extended object/Extended object entry.

Clean template parts and ensure you only have a Configuration File or Configuration File Entries (you may have more than one entries) for Configuration File of the same type.

Clean template parts and ensure you only have a Extended Object or Extended Object Entries  (you may have more than one entries) for Extended Object of the same type.
