Application Server high availability and disaster recovery

The following topics present guidelines for implementing high availability and disaster recovery for Application Servers:

Application Server types

A TrueSight Server Automation deployment might use one or several Application Servers. The number of Application Servers that you deploy and the type of work that they perform can affect the high-availability and disaster-recovery architecture and configuration settings.

The Application Server type defines the work that each Application Server can perform. By default, an Application Server is a general-purpose server of type All. Other types (Job, Configuration, and NSH_Proxy) must be explicitly set at deployment. For more information about configuring the Application Server type, see About-Application-Server-deployments-and-profiles.
