Adding or modifying instances of a local property set


You can add a local property set to a component template or modify values of local properties in an existing local property set.

To add or modify an instance of a local property set

  1. On the content editor, click the Local Properties tab.
  2. Click the Instances tab and do one of the following:
    • To create a new instance, click Add New Property Set Instanceg_V95_AddIcon.gif.
    • To modify an existing instance, select the instance and click Edit Property Set Instanceg_V95_UpdateIcon.gif.
      Depending on what you select, the Add Property Set Instance or Edit Property Set Instance dialog box opens.
    • To create a new instance by copying an existing instance, right-click the instance and select Duplicate.

      Note

      To ensure that the duplicated instance will contain all properties included in the original instance, ensure that the component template was saved since the original instance and all the properties within it were defined.

  3. For Name, enter the name of the instance. For Description, you can optionally provide descriptive text.
  4. Click in the Value column for the property that you want to edit.
    The Value field becomes active, and it displays utilities for editing the selected property value.
  5. Do any of the following:
    • To set a property value back to its default value, click Reset to Default Valueg_V95_reset_icon.gif.
      The value of the property is reset to the value it inherits from a built-in property class. The Value Source column shows the property class from which the value is inherited.
    • Depending on the type of property you are editing, you can take different actions to set a new value, such as entering an alphanumeric string, choosing from an enumerated list, or selecting a date. To insert a parameter, click Select Propertyg_V95_ParameterizeIcon.GIF.
  6. Click OK.
