Copying and pasting files and directories

From the Servers folder you can copy and paste files and directories within a server or between servers.

Warning

Note

You cannot copy and paste symbolic links or drives.

You cannot paste onto a CD-ROM drive, a floppy drive, or a network drive.

To copy and paste files and directories

  1. In the Servers folder, right-click a server and select Browse from the pop-up menu. Then, select the Live node, and then select the File System server object type.
  2. Select one or more files and directories in the content editor.
  3. Right-click and select Copy from the pop-up menu.
  4. Navigate to the server where you want to paste the files and directories.
  5. Right-click and select Browse from the pop-up menu.
    A tab appears in the content editor.
  6. Using that tab, select the Live node and then select the File System server object type.
  7. Navigate to the directory where you want to paste.
  8. Right-click, and select Paste from the pop-up menu. The copied files and directories are pasted into the new location.

 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
