Creating the PCI FIM Server Smart Group


A recommended best practice is to use a server smart group to identify the servers in your data center that require PCI FIM. A server smart group maintains its own membership using rules that you create based on server properties. Server smart group rules are quite flexible and can be used to define your change tracking policies. By enforcing those policies with the server smart group, you add a layer of consistency to your data center's processes.
Server smart groups also simplify and reduce errors in subsequent tasks in the PCI FIM process. They let you select one object (the server smart group), rather than selecting many servers individually.
