Adding or modifying an nexec command

Use this procedure to add an nexec command to those managed with RBAC or to modify an existing nexec command.

To perform this procedure, you must have, at minimum, the Authorization.Create system authorization.

To add or modify an nexec command

  1. In the RBAC Manager folder, expand Authorizations.
  2. Under Authorizations, select Commands.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Create an nexec command by right-clicking and selecting New > Nexec Command from the pop-up menu. The Command Creation wizard appears.
    • Modify an existing nexec command by selecting the command in the contents pane of the RBAC administration console, right-clicking, and selecting Open from the pop-up menu. The Command Information view provides the same fields as the Command Creation wizard.
  4. For Name, enter the name you are assigning to the nexec command. Use the following guidelines when entering the name:
    • Do not enter nexec; RBAC automatically attaches nexec to the command.
    • The authorization name must exactly match the name of the binary or command that is being executed via nexec. For example, if you want to execute foo.exe via nexec, enter foo.exe as the authorization name. Do not include the path of the binary or command.
  5. Optionally, for Description, enter a description of the command.
  6. To close the wizard and save your changes, click Finish.
